Welcome to The Office of Enterprise Risk and Insurance

The Office of Enterprise Risk and Insurance works with both executive and senior leadership as well as university departments and offices to proactively identify risks that could keep the university from attaining its goals. Once risks are identified, the office assists the university in assessing the risks, selecting and implementing appropriate strategies to lessen the impact, and planning for losses. The risk office ensures risk management activities occur intentionally, and as part of an integrated and coordinated discipline across the entire university.

Protecting University Assets

The Office of Enterprise Risk and Insurance is responsible for protecting the university’s human and physical assets.

  • Supporting departments in completing risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies
  • Providing education on risk management topics and guidance on risk management tools
  • Developing programs, guidelines, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks
  • Executing the university’s insurance strategy including procuring and managing insurance programs
  • Administering the university’s claims management process
  • Conducting risk assessments for campus events
  • Reviewing insurance documents, leases, contracts, and agreements for appropriate coverage and language
